More than eight million American children do not have health insurance. Because their families cannot afford it, these children often go without medical care, including immunizations and well-child care. There is help for many uninsured American children. However, many parents are discouraged by the cumbersome enrollment process for these programs, or are unaware of their child's eligibility.
