Mecklenburg Medical Society Alliance
In October of 1989, the Mecklenburg Medical Society Alliance assumed the responsibility for future progress of the creation of a comprehensive, free standing Mecklenburg Adolescent Health Clinic. The committment to create the clinic followed several years of study by the Adolescent Health Task Force. In February of 1990, a sub-committee convened to plan the formation of the clinic. Following this meeting, the Medical Society Alliance forged ahead with leadership, perserverance and creativity. They identified and enlisted the support of many key organizations and community leaders to implement the clinic. The committee developed the Mission Statement and five major goals and began solicitation for funding.
